Failed Attempt at Filming
Last night we planned on filming some of the film however we decided to call it off as it was raining and we didn't want to risk damaging the equipment. The rain would have also been hard to film in continuity wise as we weren't filming it all on this day so the differences between the weather in shots would be very obvious.
Filming equipment- Amy
This is a list of our filming equipment:
- Camera 1: Sony HD handycam HDR-XR55OVE
- Camera 2: Sanyo Waterproof camera
- 3 Handheld LED lights
- 3 Camera tripods
- 3 Light tripods

Locations-Andy
These are our filming locations they are both located in Haywards Heath. Location 1 is Ashenground Woods and location 2 is Furze Wood.We chose these lactation because they are close by and easy to get to. Also we know these woods and that will make it easier for us to get around and film in the dark.
These are some shots from in our location 2. The shed on the bottom could also be used for one of the notes.

Slender Logo - Nick
Hey All, Without further ado i'd like to present to you our title for the slender production that we are creating. This didn't take us too long, but none the less we're quite proud of it

The Company Logo- Amy
We have come up with a logo design for our production company. The design for idea has come from our Slender short film and is the outline of his face with the company name (The Little Company) written in it, in the scratchy style of the Slender game logo.

Applying the 5 key concepts to our short film- Amy
Gender
Our short film will show gender through a lot of things, including costume and dialogue.
The fact that our main character wonders off on his own is a stereotypically male thing to do as he feels that he is brave and look after himself,
However as our short film unravels you find that the character is just as scared as a female may be, we can tell this by the tone of his voice and the panic in his facial expressions.
Age
Age is a key concept in our short film, we do this to show that our film is a modern example of what teenagers are like in the present time. The teenagers are thrill seekers and start off the short film acting like they are not afraid of anything, they are trying to be independent by going off unsupervised and trying to look after themselves as adults would.
Media Language
Our short film will be made up mostly off very quickly paced extreme and big close ups, this is to keep the attention on the main character and to show how he may be feeling the audience will be able to tell this from his facial expression, and then when we use shots that show more such as long shots and medium long shots we will see the characters body language, this will make the audience feel for the character and imagine what it would be like to be in his situation. We will also have some tracking shots to create the illusion that you are seeing an eye line shot from Slender man himself.
The dietetic sound in our short film will turn into just heavy breathing and the sound off the main characters footsteps with the occasional dialogue from him, this will start after the first couple off scenes that will be made up off dialogue, we have chosen to do this to give the feeling off isolation, it also adds suspense to our film and will create a sense of panic in the audience, the dialogue in the begging will be a false sense off reassurance as the audience will think that it is all okay.
Representation
The main representation in our short film will be the representation off teenagers and how they feel over confident about doing something and may not think things through before doing them, it also has a moral in the short film as it is saying don't go looking for trouble unless you are able to deal with it.
Narrative
Our narrative is a circular narrative, this means that there is three stages in our short film:
The equilibrium- The idea that they are going into the woods to prove if Slender man is real, everything seems fine
The disruption- When the main character gets back to camp and finds everyone gone, then he starts to panic and gets out off the forest
The resolution- When Slender man catches him at the end
Most off our short film will be the disruption as it is all based around the chase off the character and how he feels and the feeling of isolation.
Audience
Our target audience will be teenagers from the age off 13-18 as from our research we have found that these are the age off people that have played the Slender man video game, we also feel that as our characters are all around the age of 16 this will connect to our audience and make them imagine and feel what the characters are feeling throughout our short film.

Morph Mask Update- Amy
We still haven't been able to get our hands on a white Morph Mask for our Slenderman costume, so we have decided to make our own,
This should not be too hard as we will just need a sheet of white material, we will need to use either spandex or Lycra materials to allow the mask to stretch and breath around our actors face
We will then fit this around our Slenderman actors face and neck to get the right size and then we will sew it together and then turn it inside out,
So wish us luck
This is a list of the cheapest places we could buy some of this material:
http://uk.ebid.net/for-sale/white-fabric-with-lycra-2-15-metres-blouses-etc-63950946.htm?from=googleshop_uk#pic
http://www.fabricuk.com/fabrics.php?fabric_type=64#dataform
We have decided to use the second link as it works out that it is a better material for its 4 way stretch properties,
It is going to cost us a total of £10.98 including packaging

Amy and Andys Background Image
So this is a picture that Andrew took while doing the location two test shots and then Amy and Andrew edited it on Photo Shop to give it that creepy slender look,
We made one of the most silly mistakes we could have and after over an hour of changing the size and format of the picture we realised that all we had to do was change two settings on the Blogger image upload to fix our situation of the Blogger image tiling,
so if you ever get this problem,
- Make sure that your image is 1800 Pixels by 1600 pixels
- Click on the design button on the top right hand toolbar of your blog's screen
- Go to background
- Click upload your picture and then on upload the top option in the pop up box
- Select your picture, when it has uploaded click OK
- Go onto the scroll down option on the right next to the picture at the top in the editing toolbar
- Click, Centre ( this is the alignment )
- Then on the scroll bar below click "no tile"
- And your image should be fitted to the screen.
Production of a storyboard-Amy
As you can probably tell the production of our storyboard is taking quite a while, we are taking time to think over the possible shots and also our fantastic storyboard drawer is working very hard to add the details into the pictures on our storyboard so that it is clear to us when filming what we first visualised as a perfect shot,
We will be taking multiple shots for each scene and editing them in post-production, we will select only the best shots and this is why we are taking our time when we plan. We want everything to be as successful as it can be so sorry for the wait for the rest of our storyboard, we will however be making a short video to show you how you make a storyboard, so stay tuned.

Animatic - Nick
This is the Animatic for our short film, The animatic is almost five minutes long which is what we expect our film to be.
Please enjoy!
Blog Talk One- Amy
Location 2- Andy
This is some shots around our second location that I have applied the low saturation filters to make it seem more eerie (as seen is an earlier post). As you can see it is a very open and clear woodland, this is good as its practical for filming and moving around in and it looks similar to the woods in the Slender game.
